Q&A

What inspired you to become an advanced nurse practitioner?

In my sophomore year of high school, I realized my passion for nursing. I wanted to help people and was drawn to a career in healthcare. After exploring other healthcare professions, I chose nursing because of its diverse opportunities for growth, experience, and job stability. After over a decade in nursing, I made the decision to return to school and become a Nurse Practitioner, continuing my journey of professional growth. I am grateful for the experiences I gained as a registered nurse and how they translate into the care I provide as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Why did you come to WorldClinic?

I joined WorldClinic as a Family Nurse Practitioner to be part of a unique care delivery system and experience a different approach to healthcare, distinct from my previous 20 years in the field. I’m intrigued by the innovative model of care that WorldClinic offers to its members and wanted to contribute to this evolution in healthcare delivery.

What do you find most rewarding about being an advanced nurse practitioner?

The most rewarding aspect of being a clinician is the symbiotic relationship I share with the people I care for. My role is clear – I’m there to provide medical care, helping them during their times of need and optimizing their health. Equally, their role in my life has been incredibly rewarding. I learn so much from my patients and their experiences. We share their good times and bad, and we walk through their healthcare journey together. I have the privilege of witnessing their resiliency, humility, vulnerability, and trust.

What motivates you to do your best at work every day?

Multiple factors motivate me to give my best at work every day. My motivation is rooted in the example set by my parents and their strong work ethic. Now, I aim to be that example for my own children. I strive to build trusting relationships with my patients, meeting them where they are, truly listening to their needs, and helping them during their times of necessity. I believe that delivering high-quality care and nurturing these relationships require me to be at my best.
